2. To label a point, we use a capital letter. For example, this is the point A. A

3. To label a line or interval, we use two capital letters. For example, this interval / line is called AB or BA. (A line has no fixed endpoints, an interval has two fixed endpoints). A B A B

4. If AB and CD are parallel lines, we write AB║CD.

5. We name the angle BAC, or CAB. (The vertex is the letter in the middle). If there is no chance of confusion, we can call is A.

6. We name the triangle Δ ABC.

7. We name the quadrilateral ABCD. When naming polygons, name the letters around the outside in order. We CANNOT call this ACBD.

8. The interval AB is produced to C. A C B

9. BD bisects ABC. A C B D

10. AM is a median of Δ ABC.

11. BP is an altitude of Δ ABC.
