Along this journey you will be stopping at several different Russian authors houses and learning about their lives, and their works.

Introduction (teacher) [ Student Page ] Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Credits Teacher Page This Webquest was created by Cody Brunton for Educ331 with several purposes.  First of all it was a learning tool for myself to become acclimated with the actual idea of a Webquest.  This is a very helpful tool for students to learn and is a great way to incorporate technology into the classroom.  I also designed it with the purpose of it being an introduction to an actual Russian literature course or even just a section about Russian literature in a normal English course. Learners (Teacher) [ Student Page ] Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Credits Teacher Page This project is designed for 10 th  grade English students either in a Russian lit course, a world lit course, or even an introduction lit course that has time availability for a small Russian lit section. Curriculum Standards (Teacher) [ Student Page ] Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Credits Teacher Page Students upon completing this Webquest will: -Have a greater understanding of the Russian Culture. -Gain a background knowledge of several Russian writers that will be discussed in the course. -Practice evaluation skills. -Practice their skills as writers. -Practice skills of web navigation. -Use of both sides of the brain through creative interpretation. One for the research and study of the Webquest and one for the actual production.  Groups can be divided in any way each student will be working on an individual aspect of the quest.  Make sure that each student has his or her own goals for the project.  If computer space is limited you could possibly have one half do the research one day and the other do it the following.

Evaluation (Teacher) [ Student Page ] Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Credits Teacher Page The first and most obvious way to decide if the students have learned the material to the necessary extent will be to evaluate the material that the  students turn in.  Did they get all the necessary material that was asked?  Does it seem like they have the type of information on their projects that leads you to believe they actually understood something beyond the surface of these characters or did they seem to just cut and paste plain boring facts into the projects?  If you are unsure if they got the information that you desired they learn through the experience, give them a short, low pointed quiz with easy basic facts they should have picked up on through the research. Teacher Script (Teacher) [ Student Page ] Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Credits Teacher Page -Tell students that today they will begin a section on the writers of Russia. -Explain the idea behind a Webquest and briefly show them how to navigate through it. -Divide into groups of your choosing. -Set them free to begin their “quest” -Be prepared to answer and guide them through any technical problems they may have as some of your students will not be a s computer savvy as the others. -Have them hand in their projects upon completion. -Debrief the students on what they have done. -Explain any questions they may have on the topic. -Explain how this will relate to the rest of the course so the students will understand the significance of the work they have produced. -Ask for feedback so you can modify the assignment down the road to better suit the desired outcome. -Grade projects and return timely. First of all it was a learning tool for myself to become acclimated with the actual idea of a Webquest. This is a very helpful tool for students to learn and is a great way to incorporate technology into the classroom. I also designed it with the purpose of it being an introduction to an actual Russian literature course or even just a section about Russian literature in a normal English course. Did they get all the necessary material that was asked? Does it seem like they have the type of information on their projects that leads you to believe they actually understood something beyond the surface of these characters or did they seem to just cut and paste plain boring facts into the projects? If you are unsure if they got the information that you desired they learn through the experience, give them a short, low pointed quiz with easy basic facts they should have picked up on through the research.
