Protective Packaging Provides Custom Made Barrier Bags
1. Protective Packaging Provides Custom Made Barrier Bags
Barrier Bags Made to Order
Protective Packaging Corporation specializes in custom orders of barrier bags. We are a
flexible packaging converter and can convert any of our materials into bags, tubes, sheets, or
even gusseted custom fit shapes. You provide the dimensions, and our team of packaging
specialists can do the rest.
With high-speed, automatic pouch machines that can seal, cut and fold thousands of bags an
hour, to a staff with the ability to hand make covers and materials to protect a fleet of Hum-
Vs, Protective Packaging has the knowledge and ability to perform any job that concerns
corrosion or weather related issues. From fortune five hundred electronic manufactures to the
United States Marines, we have manufactured protective products that go out to every corner of
the world.
Moisture Barrier Bags
Moisture barrier bags, (also known as foil bags, alufoil bags or Mylar bags), are one of the most
effective packaging solutions on the market today to protect against corrosive damage caused by
humidity, moisture, oxygen, salt spray, aromas, grease and other airborne contaminants.
We carry dozens of moisture proof, vapor proof, grease proof materials that meet or exceed the
following Mil-Specs:
• MIL-PRF-121
• MIL-PRF-131
• MIL-PRF-81705D
• MIL-PRF-22191
Many of our materials are used to prevent rust and corrosion on metals, but they are also well
suited to protect against:
• Electrostatic discharge
• Oxygen
• Salt spray
• UV rays
• Dust
• Debris
• Pests
• Weather
Bag Construction
Our packaging professionals can create bags of all shapes and sizes; if you send us the
dimensions, we can make the bag or cover you need. Standard requests are for:
• Flat Bags – three sides with one open end
• Tear-Notch bags
2. • Bags with lip
• Flat Bottom Bags - (sometimes called gusseted bags, or pouches) – bags with a flat
bottom and two sides leaving only one edge to seal and no folds.
Bags and tubes made from our materials meet or exceed MIL-DTL-117 requirements.
Static Shielding Bags
Protective Packaging Corporation is also one of the leading manufacturers of static shielding
bags in the United States. Although we carry an extensive inventory of "ready-made" solutions,
as a manufacturer we also have the ability to create customized static shielding bags of any size.
• Metal Out Static Shielding Bags - Metal-Out static shielding bags are designed to
protect against static-induced damage. The Metal-Out layer is close to the surface for low
surface resistivity readings. The Metal-Out static shielding bags will dissipate a 5,000-
volt static charge to zero in less than 100 microseconds.
Packaging Considerations
Our barrier bags protect a variety of products: MREs, clothing, bombs, computer chips, car parts,
and fireworks to name a few. If you have an issue with the preservation or protection of your
inventory, please give us a call and we'll help you find the solution.
3. Because there are several factors to consider when selecting a moisture barrier bag, we prefer to
speak with our customers to recommend the best material for each project. When we speak with
you, we’ll ask about:
• Types of materials being packaged (wood, steel, plastic, copper, etc)
• Dimensions of the items to be packaged
• Storage or shipping conditions
• For items being stored, duration of storage
