2. WHAT IS MOOCs?
MOOCs stand for Massive Open Online Courses. A massive open
online course is an online course aimed at unlimited participation.
MOOCs are classes that are taught online to large numbers of
students, with minimal involvement by professors. Typically,
students watch short video lectures and complete assignments that
are graded either by other students. That way a lone professor can
support a class with a lots of participants.

Accessibility.
It allows an emancipation to the students.
Teaching and learning can occur at anywhere where there is
an internet.
It offers an equal rights to education

MOOCs?
The instructors and professors deal with a huge audience, as a
result, they are unable to give active feedbacks for assignments
and tests to the students.
There is no interaction taking place on MOOCs. Hence there is
no active feedback that can be done.
Only students with a lot perseverance and self-discipline can
manage to finish up these courses. Students who are unable to
manage their time often drop out of these courses.
.Due to the above reasons the dropout rates of MOOCs is very
high. As per a research, on an average only 7.7% of the learners

professors to offer MOOCs. Meanwhile, some colleges are starting
their own endeavour, and some individual professors are offering
their courses to the world, they use their own resources and
facilities to do so.

MOOC enthusiasts, visualizing how these large, online courses
will increase access to higher education, reduce costs, and
strengthen teaching and learning. In the other corner: MOOC
critics, anticipating how MOOCs will eliminate meaningful
interaction between faculty and students, reduce the quality or
standard of learning, and destroy the professorship.
7. How is quality defined in
MOOCs?
Quality is defined quite differently when it is viewed under the
network model, with openness, autonomy, diversity and
interactivity being the hallmarks of sustainable networked
learning based MOOCs. Recent researches have underscored
the tensions that are inherited when social networks are
combined into a formal education system, as the concept of
quality would be dependent on the degree of openness and
autonomy one would perceive.

they are enrolling their courses online.

learner technologically, in our days technology is improving year by
year and when I’ll be teaching my learners I will use tools like
projectors in order to modernize my teaching.
