The mathematics department of Vatsalya held a week-long session to discuss how to improve the teaching and learning of math. They focused on common mistakes students make, key concepts for each class, connecting learning across grades, and introducing Vedic mathematics. Teachers practiced microteaching in pairs and received feedback on their use of teaching aids and pedagogy. The goal was to make math more interesting, fun, and student-centered. Overall, the session helped teachers develop new approaches to teaching and learning math.

1. MATHEMAGIC
Mathematics Department of Vatsalya completed a week long brain storming
session on the topic "How to make learning of Maths easy and effective". Areas in
which generally common mistakes are committed by students, basic concepts
required to know by students in each class (M.L.L.), connection with learning in
the next class, introduction of Vedic mathematics were discussed in depth.
Teachers were given the topics for microteaching in pairs, use of teaching aids,
pedagogy and learning was counter checked by the others. Stress was laid on
making the subject more interesting, fun and student oriented. Over all the
session was found to be help full in provoking a different thought process among
teachers, leading and enduring change and innovations in the teaching and
learning approach.
