2. How I Used Pre-production Materials.
In the process of making our documentary, all our pre-
production materials worked as a guideline or instruction
guide. Such materials as the documentary
outline, storyboard and script enabled our group to know
exactly what we need to film and how to film it, other
materials like materials list, crew list and budget sheet
enabled us to know what we need and in how much of it we
need.

3. Was it helpful to you? How?
The pre-production material was very
helpful because it worked as a
guideline, without it our group would
be doing everything as we go
along, which would have cause issues
and inconveniences that would have
made everything a lot more difficult.
For example if we were filming a scene
that need six people and we didn’t
prepare ahead of time for that, it would
be harder to find six people and
possibly impossible to find
participants, but with a storyboard and
outline we would know and have more
time to find six participants, and if we
can’t find participants, we would have
enough time to figure out a backup
plan.

4. Discuss how you used your storyboards
We used our storyboards to know
the camera techniques and scale of
production that we need to film for
the documentary(for example, if
we needed to film a scene were we
needed a crowd, and film them at
an over-the-head shot, we would
know to gather a group and stand
on a platform high enough) it was
also useful when we were editing
so we know what order everything
needs to go.

5. Were your contact sheets useful?
The contact sheet was not useful because I either already
had contact with a group member or didn’t need to contact
them. There were cases were I we couldn’t get hold of some
group members, but it wasn’t because we didn’t have their
contact details, we just could get hold of them.

6. Did you look back over your material list in
order to know what was required?
We did look back at the materials list, especially when it came to
doing the re-enactments,for example. We put on our materials list
that we would need two mobile phone for a scene. Without looking
at the materials list our group would have only provided one mobile
phone.

7. How did all your research help
your final product?
The research was very helpful to our final product because
it gave us more knowledge on our documentary topic, we
knew more facts and opinions on the subject, which
allowed us to construct clever questions, outline the most
important information on our documentary and construct a
clever script for the voice over of the documentary.

8. How did you use your production
schedule?
We didn’t use our production schedule as much as we
properly should have, incidents like group member absents
and video camera errors put a strain on our schedule and
we ended up not using it at all. I believe that maybe if our
group had recreated another updated version of the
production schedule our filming and editing process would
have gone smoother.

9. Did the scripts help during your final production?
The scripts helped a lot
during the production of
our documentary. With
our scripts we were able
to ask good questions
for our interviews and a
decent voice over
(narration) segment for
some parts of the
documentary.
