Age over 65, higher BMI, and higher ASA comorbidity score were associated with longer operating and cutting times, ICU stay, and hospital length of stay. Those over 65 also had higher rates of transfusion. However, complication rates were generally similar between groups. Higher ASA score was associated with more minor and moderate systemic complications, but occurrence of local complications was similar between groups.
