- 9. The Online Classroom Chat Box Dialog Box- This is where the typed conversation appears between student and tutor. White Board- The student and Tutor can type or draw in several colors on this space. White Board Tools- Users can draw with shapes, straight lines, free draw, type text or type mathematical figures. Users may also select different colors to use or erase. The users may start a new board at any time or move between boards. Browser Address Bar-This allows the student to share a website with the tutor.

- The Chat Box- The student places the mouse in this box and clicks. The flashing insertion point will appear and the student can type messages to the tutor. After typing, the student clicks the send chat button and the information appears in the dialog box. The dialog box is a record of the conversation between the tutor and student. The scroll bar on the left of the dialog box allows the student to review the conversation. The users can start a new board if they run out of room or move on to a different topic. We will practice using the whiteboard tools during the tutorial.
- “ Print”- allows you print out your session. Dialog and whiteboards will print separately. “ Send File”- allows you to share a file on your computer with the other user. Upload time will vary depending on the speeds of both computers. “ Help”- will lead you to a list describing the classroom features. Students who do not find the answers they need about the online classroom here are encouraged to ask the tutor. “ Session Time”- displays the length of the current session. “ End Session”- Terminates the session.
