The programs will focus on specializing coaches to educate the technological aspects to improve sports performance across a wide range of sports. The program will present theoretical foundations and practical applications for the further growth of sport and the Olympic and international sports standards. The intended result is for NSTCP coaches to complete their training, and curb the national sport development to a higher and consistence standard. They will be a national sport technician to their specific sports federation.<br />Program Structure<br />The National Sport Technical Coaching Program (NSTCP) is a certify and demanding coaches’ educational program consisting of lectures, projects, tutors, coaches presentations, group work, field trips, project planning and implementation. The program will consist of three (3) modules scheduled for two 2 months, the coaches will be having their academic lectures at the University of St.Maarten, then coaches will travel to Dominican Republic (international) and work with an international coach to their specific sport on the field, coaches will return back to St.Maarten and work with a tutor to develop a personal project that will be implemented for the benefit of their respective sport, finalizing the program with an examination. He or she must: <br />Coach to a specific sport association/federation of a sport for the kingdom Games Programme;<br />Must have a Dutch nationality <br />Having a official level II national coach recognized by the respective national/international association/Federation;<br />Must be active and able to prove two years coaching practical experience as a coach at national/international level<br />Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in English, (speaking Spanish will be plus.)<br />The coach must be committed to returning and making an important and sustainable contribution to his or her sport of the Kingdom Games Programme movement through application of the knowledge and experienced gained from the program. They coaches will be selected on the basis of their background criteria’s.<br />Coach <br />Requirements: Level I & II and one (1) year coaching at national level. <br />Having a Dutch nationality or register <br />Certify level I & II coach of a respective association federation <br />Must be active and able to prove two years coaching practical experience as a coach at national/international level<br />Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in English, (speaking Spanish will be plus.)<br />The coach must be committed to returning and making an important and sustainable contribution to his or her sport of their respectable sport on St. Maarten.<br />International coach<br />Requirements: Level I & II and one (1) year coaching at national level. <br />Must be member of their national sport federation <br />Certify level I & II coach of a respective sports federation <br />Must be active and able to prove two years coaching practical experience as a coach at national/international level<br />Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in English, (speaking Spanish will be plus.)<br />The coach must be committed to returning and making an important and sustainable contribution to his or her sport of their respectable sport on to their country. .<br />Module I<br />The first module will be two weeks and take place on the campus of the University of St.Maarten. The module will consist of lectures, projects, guest speakers, participant presentations, group work, and project planning on the development of national coaching programs in their respective sport. <br />SPECIFIC TOPICS COVERED: (20hrs)<br />Coaches Code & Ethics (USM)<br />Coaching Principles Management relationships (USM)<br />Coaches First aid exercise (AMB DEPT)<br />Sports Medicine: Taping and Bracing (AMB DEPT)<br />Exercise Physiology: Understanding the Athlete (USM)<br />Exercise Physiology: Muscle Physiology (USM)<br />Exercise Physiology: Recover and Regeneration (USM)<br />Sports Nutrition: Competition Preparations<br />Strength and Conditioning: Core Stability/ planning and Periodization (USM)<br />Strength and Conditioning: Practical Application of Strength and Conditioning (GYM)<br />Module II<br />The second module will conduct in Dominican Republic whereby this will enables the coach to develop their coaching skills during an apprenticeship in their respective sport. The apprenticeship is designed so that the coaches have the opportunity to outline a Dominican National Team coach or an equivalent high-level club or university coach. The second module will give coaches the opportunity share and learn from new methods or applied technologies being utilized in their sport and acquire knowledge and information that can be shared upon returning to their country to further develop their sport. Coaches will continue to work on their projects during the apprenticeship and communicate with their assigned tutor. (USM)<br />During the third module coaches will undergo an analysis of their projects by the expert board (made up of the University of St. Maarten, SMSF, and international coaching experts ICECP). The Coaches will receive recognition for the conclusion of the program based on the completion and/or implementation of their project. Successful Coaches will be awarded a Diploma of completion from the University of St.Maarten and the St. Maarten Sport Federation (SMSF), Dom Rep Olympic Committee after having undergone a public presentation of their projects<br />The last four days of the module will be dedicated to the coaching of the participants on their projects by their tutors, and will include a presentation by the participants on their proposed projects.
