*Many children will experience Cognitive Decline
and reduced Social Acceptance after being
treated for Childhood Cancer.
This is particularly evident with young girls.

*The Digital Me project is based on 10 years of in-
depth research and prototyping, resulting in a proven
framework of game-based learning methodology and
toolsets.
*Using these design principles, an increase of
cognitive abilities 2.5 times over that of traditional
drill and practice methods has been proven.
*These principles, including the Adaptive Intelligence
Module (AIM) and Active Intuitive Scaffolding (AIS)
features, are the core of this revolutionary
application.

*Digital Me is a library of games that are linked to
an onscreen, age appropriate and customisable
character, using revolutionary design principles to
accelerate cognitive learning.

*The application and associated games, focus on
creating an environment that motivates the user to
persistently re-engage, fostering the drill and practice
of cognitive skills through interactive play.

*The application will also provide features
such as reminding the user to complete
real-life tasks (like take medications), all
in a safe virtual environment with parental
control or clinical supervision.

*The proposed application and included game
modules will fully comply with accessibility
guidelines for mobile devices, as documented by
the Able Gamers foundation (2012).
*Initially, this app will support 6 languages
(English, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Japa
nese), and will eventually support all iOS
character sets.

Hinweis der Redaktion Show Video:All popular digital games exercise cognitive skills.Exergamers believe DDR is great for getting fit and weight reduction, probably is, but I observed some expert DDR players who didn’t need exercise. They process the arrows moving up on the screen at 7 moves per second!!! With no mistakes. How were they doing this? I eyetracked them. They were doing pattern search, pattern matching, memory chuncking, and as their cognitive skills improved, so did their game play. And the more they played, the more their cognitve skills improved. They also did the move in peripheral vision (as do people playing solitare. Phoebe is our protagonist. Austistic kids dont like animals that talk. Girls relate to Phoebe cause she is cute and clever, and boys like her cause she is cute ….and rides a Harley davidson Angry Birds is no more than worms with cute birds. It is also just missile command. However, it is addictive because utilizes cognitive challenge….. This and other features were promoted by doctors and parents. Nearly all games developed for heathcare are in English. This needs a rethink.
