This document summarizes a workshop on reinventing carpooling that discussed: 1) Current carpooling rates and their environmental impacts 2) The desire to increase the priority of carpooling initiatives when discussing transportation solutions 3) The workshop included introductions from participants, a discussion of the history of carpooling programs, envisioning how ridesharing could be increased through new technologies and without pre-arrangement, and developing a shared vision and strategies to achieve it.
