The Met department has forecast light to moderate fog or smog in Delhi
around December 1 and 2 though dense fog has been ruled out for at least
another week. The city is also expected to witness some clouding with
possibility of light rain in isolated places on November 29.“There have been
strong winds over Delhi on Wednesday which started changing to easterly
due to an oncoming strong western disturbance that will affect the
northwest Himalayan region between November 28 and 30. These winds will
lead to an increase in the night temperatures and may also result in smoggy
conditions in the morning of November 27. From November 30, cold
westerly winds will pick up again under the influence of which there would
be moderate fog on December 1 and 2.However, there is little chance of
persistent dense fog right now since the temperature is too high for that,“
said RK Jenamani, director in-charge IGI Met.

The Met department said that there will be shallow to moderate fog in
isolated pockets of Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, north
Rajasthan, Bihar and sub-Himalayan West Bengal over the next two
days. The minimum temperature is also expected to rise by 2-3 degrees
over the plains of northwest India during this period. “We can expect
isolated to scattered rain and thundershowers over east Rajasthan,
south Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh. Delhi will have partly cloudy sky
and possibility of rain in some areas on November 29.
