Day 1
Hello. My fleet and I are just about to leave port. I
can’t wait until we get to India. We will be following
Vasco de Gama’s path. I am taking 13 ships with me. My
crew is hoping for no troubles. We are hoping to get back
in about a year. I hope that none of my crew members get
sick. Sickness on a boat is probably the worst thing ever
because you would have no way to say goodbye to your
loved ones. I am very nervous about this trip. My dreams
would’ve never come true if it wasn’t for King Manuel. I
am hoping to find unclaimed land. I would love to claim
something for Portugal and name it. If I were to claim
land, I would name it something meaningful to me. My
goal is to make sure that all of my caravels make it home.
My crew members are excited to go, but some of them are
nervous, as am I. King Manuel is smart for choosing me. I
feel that I will guide my fleet into nice, calm waters. I will
not steer off of de Gama’s route. My family and my friends
are scared for me then again they are happy for me. This
was my dream, and it is coming true. I’m glad to have
become an explorer. My crew is loyal. I can trust them.
They are the most trustworthy crew in the world. On my
trip, I plan to sail along the Cape of Good Hope, then to
India and back home. Wish me luck!
