Las marzas is a spanish tradition in the people sing a tradicional songs for the
people’s house.las marzas are in 1st of march for welcome the spring.

The marzas of Cantabria is the 28th February.
This tradition is because they welcome the
month.
The people sing the beautiful song in the night
in places. The man´s wearing a checked shirt , a
red sash and stick. The woman´s wearing a
beautiful skirt , a shirt and a basket with food.
This celebreticion is very happy and funny.

They go from house to house . People hive food and they say: sing prey or

tambourine, bagpipes, bell, cowbell and
food.

welcome a march and is very beautiful.

The marzas is a traditional party in Cantabria. The
marzas is celebrated in March. In the marzas, people
sing with instruments, is very beautiful. They carry
food in a basket.
People wearing checked shirt, corduroy trousers, beret
and also albarcas. The marzas is celebrated the last
day of February and also the first day of March.
These are the typical costumes that are worn in
marzas.

In March the marzeros go to the people’s house to
sing.

Although most of this ancient party is lost, it is still
celebrated in Torrelavega, Polanco, Piélagos and
others villages of Cantabria. In Reinosa is celebrated
the only marzas competition of our region for 30 years.

The tradition of Marzas in Spain (Cantabria), celebrate in
    the first week March, because they want give to
   welcome good time. They are wearing costume of
 Cantabria. They sing, enjoy and dance. They go home
to home and they ask ‘’ el dao‘’ (money, food and drink)
         which is a reward for his performance.
 Costume of boys: trousers of corduroy, shirt, sash and
                        beret.
  Costume of girls: skirt, shirt, scarf, apron and basket
       with food. They usually wear instruments

The marzas
The Marzas, give the welcome to the March (to arrival
of spring). The marzas is to celebrate before day of
February or the first day the March. The people sing,
play the instruments and dance. By all the home, for
than them give to the “dao” (is the alms).




The man’s wearing the black beret, trouser the
corduroy, shirt checkered, waistcoat the lamb, the
albarcas, inside the albarcas people gets escarping, one
red scarf, fajin (belt the cloth), one stick and the one
basket the wicker.




The woman’s wearing albarcas, inside the albarcas,
people gest escarping, white thick tights, she’s wearing
three skirts and one trousers the colour white, the
trousers name “en aguas”, two white skirts is name
“cancan”, and one which is on top can be the different
coloures, one white blouse, one “corsé” (is one waistcoat
is black) and the headscarf. The woman keeps and one
basket.
