Faster payment procedure by allowing portal users (ie. customers) to

The net amount corresponds to the full invoice amount
No more write-offs in your accounting books
The customer is responsible for the payment method he chooses

Introduced in trunk (v8), but back-ported to v7
Installation:
You need to install the paypal_installment_plan module
Enhanced Recurring Payment for PayPal Standard ($20/month)
Activation: Accounting > Configuration >
Miscellaneous > Payment terms
Business benefits:
Decrease collection time
Decrease the risk of customers defaulting on payments
Get the customer’s commitment at once, even in advance!
