could be used for times when there are motion.

                                                     SETTING CONSIDERATIONS
It is important to adjust the settings for each
camera to provide optimal results for the
environment. Keep these guidelines in mind
                                                     when setting up the DVR.

All X/Xr Series are set to continuous recording out

video retention) it is recommended that you

In some environments there are times when
the normal schedule may not provide optimal
                                                     recording. Special Day Recording allows
unlimited one-time exceptions to be created.

Similar to the recording schedule, each sensor
can be enabled or disabled at different times of
the day and days of the week. This allows
sensors to automatically come into effect after
business hours, for example, or at a time of the

view (minus the interface) through an RCA output; this
will allow sequencing on that output as well.

alarm, a log is generated. The comprehensive log

X/Xr Series DVRs use the most reliable hard

safe. Any drive has a chance of failing

All X/Xr Series DVRs use the Windows® operating
system. Some configuration in Windows may be
necessary during installation of the DVR. For security
purposes, the server software starts automatically and
hides the Windows interface. Only authorized users are
able to exit the Server software.

The system time must be set in Windows; all
other displayed clocks are based on this global
setting. It is important to avoid adjusting the time
after initial installation, as all recording is time-
based and data loss can occur.

It is critical to select the correct time zone
when configuring the time. All recorders ship

Adding any 3rd party software to a recorder may
reduce its reliability and cause stability issues, so
it is not recommended. In some cases, however,

All X/Xr Series DVRs ship with a repair disk
(replacements can be ordered as needed). In
some instances it may be necessary to run the
disk to restore the recorder to factory defaults. It
is advised to contact technical support before
