- 3. Introduction These signs do not exist in factories to my knowledge, but they could. Signs may have different functions, they can inform, they can warn, they can direct, and they can remind. This set focuses on the later two functions. The signs that follow seek to direct and remind us of what we are trying to accomplish in Lean. This not a complete set, but an open set. They are to be a conversation starter, not the last word. Take a look and modify these or create your own. The goal is that we can move our Lean journey forward through use of signs.
