1. Come and live with us in the Middle
Colonies! These colonies include New
York, New Jersey, Delaware, and
Pennsylvania. We have flat land with
rich and rocky soil, better than the
New England Colonies, and mild climate
with warm summers and cold winters.
Our region is hotter than the New
England Colonies, but colder than the
Southern Colonies. That makes it great
for farming. Great forest can be found
too, which makes wonderful furniture
and others. River system and harbors
runs nearby. Visit the beautiful city,
called Philadelphia, meaning “brotherly
love” in Greek, with colorful flowers in
the gardens in Pennsylvania. This city is
our important shipbuilding center. You
would certainly love to live there! We also
have great harbors for shipping. There are
mountains, too, in our region
