Spain is a country and member state of the
European Union located in southwestern
Europe on the Iberian Peninsula.
Spain is seen as an exotic country because
of its friendly people, warm weather, laid-
back lifestyle, cuisine, exciting night-life, and
its world famous festivities and folklore.
The history of Spain is a compendium of
influences from the different cultures that
have lived in the country.
3. ALHAMBRA PALACE (GRANADA)
The Alhambra in Spain is called the red fortress
and it is located in Granada, Spain.
This place is a fort that is very complex in its
structure.
The Alhambra, the complete form of which was
Calat Alhambra, is a palace and fortress
complex located in the Province of Granada,
Spain.
It was constructed during the mid 14th century
by the Moorish rulers of the Emirate of Granada
in Al Andalus, occupying the top of the hill of the
Assabica on the southeastern border of the city
of Granada.
4. ALHAMBRA PALACE (GRANADA)
Today, the Alhambra is one of the main tourist
attractions of the country.
The total length of the Alhambra is 740 meter
and it has one of the largest widths.
The best and the strongest position is the
citadel.
The Alhambra is a true reflection of the ruler
Nasrid Emirate of Granada.
In total, it has 13 towers.
The entire fortress is made up of red clay.

5. AQUEDUCT OF SEGOVIA (SEGOVIA)
The Aqueduct of Segovia is the most important Roman civil
engineering work of Spain.
The Segovia aqueduct carried the water from Fuente Fría to the city of
Segovia.
In the deepest part is 28 meters.
From1992, cars are not allowed to run going under the arches of

6. AVILA’S WALLS (AVILA)
The Avila Walls were built in the 11th century.
The city is located 3665 ft above the sea level.
The main sites are built on the top of a hill.
The city covers an area of about 232 square kilometers and a population of
58,561.
The walls measure 3 meters wide with 9 entrance gates and 90 towers.
The cathedral was built between the 12th and 14th centuries and features a
collection of sculptures and paintings from the year 1571.

7. SEVILLE CATHEDRAL (SEVILLE)
The Seville Cathedral is located in Seville,
Spain. The church was built in the 1500s
in Gothic styles.
It is the largest cathedral in Spain and the
world’s
third largest cathedral.
The Cathedral features the tomb of
Christopher Columbus.
In 1888, a massive earthquake hit the city
and the same dome collapsed, it was
rebuilt again.
8. SEVILLE CATHEDRAL (SEVILLE)
The Giralda is a former minaret that was converted
to a belltower for the Cathedral of Seville in Seville.
It was one of the most important symbols in the
medieval city.
The Giralda Tower is the Cathedral’s famous bell
tower. The tower measures 97.5 meters high was
the world’s tallest tower at the time of its
construction. The tower features a statue that
measures 4 meters high

9. PARK GÜELL (BARCELONA)
Park Güell is a complex garden with
architectural elements.
It was designed by the catalan architect
Antoni Gaudí and built from 1900 to
1914.
Eusebi Güell bought a large farm in the
"Muntaya Pelada", Gracia. He wanted to
build a Garden-city, the works were
commissioned to Antonio Gaudí.
But they can only sell three parcels, and
the work was stopped in 1914 because it
had been a failure.
10. PARK GÜELL (BARCELONA)
Today the structures are designed to
community services, entering the
square,
the Hipóstila Chamber ...
It was opened to the public in 1922 as
a park for its beauty. In 1984 it was
declared a World Heritage Site by
Unesco.

11. GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM (BILBAO)
The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is a
museum of modern and contemporary
art, designed by Canadian-American
architect Frank Ghery, built by Ferrovial
and located in Bilbao, Basque country,
Spain.
It is built alongside the Nervion River,
which runs through the city of Bilbao to
the Atlantic Coast. The Guggenheim is
one of several museums belonging to
the Solomon R. Guggenheim
Foundation.
The museum features permanent and
visiting exhibits of works by Spanish

12. ROYAL PALACE (MADRID)
The royal Palace in the city of Madrid is
the official residence for the Emperors
of Spain.
The palace is one of the main
attractions in the city and it is Western
Europe’s largest palace that covers an
area of 135,000 square metres with
2800 rooms.
The palace was built in between the
years 1738-1755 on the site of an old
castle belonging to the 16th century.
The castle was burnt by Emperor Philip
V and he commissioned a new palace
to be built on the same site.

13. SAGRADA FAMÍLIA (BARCELONA)
The Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la
Sagrada Familia is designed for Antoni
Gaudí an architect of Catalonia , in
November the 2010 is consecrated for
the Pope Benedict XVI.
It started in 1882, Gaudí is involved in
1883 taking over the project and
transforming it with his architectural
and engineering style.
Gaudi died, he was ran over by a tram
car in 1926. Only a quarter of the
project was complete.
14. SAGRADA FAMÍLIA (BARCELONA)
Sagrada Família's construction
progressed but it was interrupted by
Spanish civil War.
It was resumed in the 1950s.

15. CANARY ISLANDS
The Canary Islands is a chain of Spanish
Islands located in the norhwest coast of
Africa and it is about 100 km for the
borders of Sahara and Marroco.
The name "Islas Canarias" is likely
derived from the Latin name "Insula
Canaria", meaning "Island of the Dogs".
The islands are volcanic and there are
about seven islands: Tenerife,
Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote,
La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.
The Canaries are a Spanish autonomous
community and an orteumost region of the
European Union.
16. CANARY ISLANDS
The capital for the Autonomus Community
is shared by the cities of Las Palmas and
Santa Cruz.
The islands have a subtropical climate,
with long warm summers and moderately
winters and the archipelago's beaches,
climate and important natural attractions,
especially Teide National Park and Mount
Teide. The highest mountain in Spain.
These islands are ideal for astronomical
observation.
Tenerife, with 865,070 inhabitants, is both
the Canary Islands' and Spain's most
populous island and is also the largest
island of the archipelago.
Four of Spain's thirteen national parks are
