3. Water in the fuel cannot go through the engine without causing damage to the injectors;
• Water hosts Bacteria that feeds off of the diesel or Bunker diesel fuel, adding to the
sludge;
• Water in the fuel causes rust in the fuel tanks; creating the need for de-scaling in dry-
dock;
• High sulfur content in the bunker fuel reacts with the water; making sulfuric acid, this
damages the engine and shortens it’s life.
