WHY? Accidental Occurence
The accident risk among workers up to 25 years of age is four times
higher than that of workers between 35 an d45 years of age.
46% of all accidents happen in the first year, 75% in the first two
years.
The accident risk in SMEs is double that of large firms.
No change of this statistics between 2002 and 2006.

2. The owners, especially of small firms, must be aware of
occupational safety and know what trainees have learnt about
it at school. Trainees should be able to apply what they have
learnt.
