This document discusses a study analyzing the potential impacts of transit-oriented development (TOD) near the Madison Square Station in Baltimore, Maryland. The study area contains vacant buildings and lots in an economically depressed and socially distressed neighborhood. Redeveloping the area with TOD could take advantage of existing transit options and proximity to employment centers. The document outlines recommendations for the built environment around the station, including validating mobility, determining appropriate housing types and amounts, and proposing potential land use arrangements within a quarter mile of the station. It concludes that TOD could provide an improved urban and transit experience while making better use of resources and promoting equity.
