  1. Intro: From a pure numbers perspective Citrix is hitting on all cylinders. Key Points:In 2011 we generated north of $2 billion in revenue and increased our total employee count to over 7,000 talented and passionate people. We are now a strategic provider of software solutions for more than 200,000 customers and We’ve built a veritable army of business partners and systems integrators to assist you on your journey to the cloud…and beyond. Perhaps just as importantly, we are #1 or #2 in every major market that we serve – from desktop virtualization with the award-winning XenDesktop, to the leading enterprise cloud networking platform – NetScaler. We have also established the early lead in building cloud infrastructure with Citrix CloudStack. CloudStack already powers many of the largest and most successful clouds in the world. And finally, last year served as a real milestone for us in collaboration, with GoToMeeting leap-frogging the competition to secure the #2 spot in web collaboration.Transition:Along the way to all of these great achievements we’ve also acquired approximately 25 companies inthe past 3 years – adding to one of the software industry’s most complete product portfolios. But even in the face of all of this we have held firmly to our core vision and beliefs.
  2. Intro:At Citrix, we believe in a world where people can work or play from anywhere. Key Points: We added the word play a few year’s back because we knew that something profound was taking place. Employees were taking control of their own IT. People were beginning to bring their personal devices into the workplace – and you know what – these brave, young digital natives expected them all to work on day one. At Citrix, we couldn’t agree more - Everyone should be able to work whenever and wherever they want on whatever device they choose. Anecdotes/Proof Points: At this point, weave in a personal story about your experience with digital natives – whether your kids, someone at work, etc and how the expectations have influenced business.Transition: Unfortunately, we live in a crazy world.
  3. Intro:A world where there was more volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity then ever before. Key Points:This term, VUCA, was coined back in the early 1990s, to represent the chaos that was being seen in the first Gulf War. As it turns out, the term could also be used to describe the world that businesses around the world were facingTransition: Think about what you heard on the news day in and day out…
  4. Intro: Whether it is a financial crisis, a labor strike, geo-political unrest, or simply the forces of nature – the world that businesses and IT were being asked to operate in was increasingly volatile and ever-changing.Proof Points/Anecdotes: Weave in an example of VUCA here that is relevant to the customer’s industry or location. Transition:As if that weren’t enough, there was a new generation entering the workforce.
  5. Intro: This generation couldn’t possibly conceive of why their workplace computing experience wasn’t just as simple, elegant and easy as their home experience. Key Points: This was a generation bringing iPhones and iPads into the workplace because they loved them. To make matters worse, the executives were on the same bandwagon…actually, they are often driving this change as well. That’s why we believe, as does Gartner, that consumerization will be the single most impactful trend to impact IT over the next decade. Anecdotes/Proof Points: Bring in a personal anecdote here – make a comparison between what you were offered from a computing perspective when you joined the workforce versus what people expect now. It is one device and there was one device type. Now its multiple devices and people want a choice of which device that is.Transition: So what have businesses done to embrace consumerization and think of a new way to provide IT services.
  6. Intro: Well there has actually been a fair amount of innovation in this arena. Key Points: Many companies have attempted to embrace BYOD, Workshifting, Micro-Apps, Mobility, and Enterprise App Stores. Companies want to do something about consumerization because they know its inevitable. As an example, Citrix itself now embraces all of these. We have a robust BYOD program in place, empowering employees to use the device of their choice. We employ people globally, many of whom work in far-flung remote locations, some in their homes, and others in carefully designed, collaborative workspaces – in short, wherever work can be done swiftly and cost effectively. Transition: But it hasn’t been easy….
  7. Intro:I’m sure you can imagine why. It’s because the CIO in most enterprises is stuck between a proverbial rock and a hard place. Key Points:On the one hand, they know that consumerization is an undeniable force. But on the other hand they know they need to reduce costs, so they attempt to standardize services. Similarly, they must constantly attend to the existing infrastructure of legacy apps why striving to adopt for cost effective, and scalable cloud-based services. As you can see, that places the CIO in a pretty tough spot.Transition: Well before anyone despairs, there is hope. In fact, there is a massive transformation occurring.
  8. Intro: This is the transition to the cloud era. Key Points: The center of the computing universe is actually moving from right on your own desk – to a distant datacenter in the sky. A datacenter that offers infinite scale and storage, rapid app delivery, and data access from any device, anywhere in the world… Transition:Sounds good right?Well it is good, but it means we are going to have to do some pretty serious thinking about everything we have assumed about IT over the past 20 years.
  9. Intro:Here’s why…Key Points: Today’s systems – designed & built in the PCEra – are based on some coreassumptions: that people work in an office, using a corporate-issued PC and primarily attached to a wired network. The services that IT delivers are largely designed as premise-based, built in a monolithic way and offered in suites of apps … for various roles, locations and even devices. Over time, these assumptions have forced IT to over-invest in exceptions. If you’re mobile, you’re an exception. If you want to use a personal device, you’re an exception. Wireless, cloudservices, micro-apps through an appstore? All exceptions. At Citrix, we believe the exceptions of the PC Era are the new assumptions of the Cloud Era. Where everyone is assumed to be mobile and enabled with multiple personal devices… connecting over wireless networks. Apps are delivered as cloud services – private or public – as micro-apps because simpler is better, faster and cheaper. And all IT services are self-service, delivered through enterprise app stores. If you build to this newsetofassumptions… anyone who works in an office on a companydevice, connects to a wired network to use premise-based, legacy apps, doesn’t cost one incremental dollar to the enterprise. So in the cloud era that Citrix envisions, the exceptions are free! Transition: Toreiterate …
  10. Intro: Thefirst is mobile workstyles. Key Points:Mobile workstyles are all about making people more productive, regardless of where they are, what device they’re using or what applications and data they need to get their job done. Transition: The second solution area is just as critical…
  11. Intro:And that’s cloud services. Key Points:Cloud services solutions are all about enabling IT transformations in the broader sense.Transition: Let’s dig a bit deeper into those concepts.
  12. Intro: I’ll begin with mobile workstyles. Key Points:Mobile workstyles require the use of a personal cloud… that is a cloud that enables people to connect with co-workers with a rich, high-definition audio and video collaboration experience. Mobile workstyles also need data and apps that are available whenever and wherever an employee needs them – on any device. So personal clouds are emerging as a way of enabling mobile workstyles. On the other side of the equation is where IT really fits in…delivering the cloud services that are consumed within personal clouds. There is a fascinating convergence taking place there – a convergence between private clouds, securely behind an enterprise firewall, and the wonderful new world of the public clouds which offer enticing economics, massive scale, and global access, but may raise security concerns. At Citrix, we believe you can have the best of both worlds – with seamless access to cloud-based apps and data, with the robust security and control that enterprise IT and the business demands. So, we see the cloud era as three PCs – the personal cloud that enables a completely mobile workstyle, and the convergence of private and public clouds where every IT service is a cloud service.Transition:And Citrix can say this with a degree of confidence.
  13. Intro: We have a long history in mobility as a pioneer and leader in remote access. As importantly, we have delivered on device independence – providing access to IT services from any device. This is more critical than ever because consumerization is multiplying the number of devices people use – PCs, smartphones and tablets. Key Points:MobileWorkstylesMobile workstyles allow people to work anywhere with anyone – collaborating with a high-definition experience that’s "just like being there“.  And, being mobile means data should securely follow the user – enabling simple and secure access from any device. And, of course, there are apps – providing every user with self-service access to any Windows, Web, SaaS, or Mobile app from a universal access point that’s device independent.Cloud ServicesOn the cloud services side, our vision is that Public clouds become more secure & transparent.Private clouds become more flexible & economical. Our goal is to deliver on this promise without being locked into any particular virtual infrastructure or cloud service provider. Powering cloud services starts with a single point of control that unifies the provisioning and security of Windows, web, SaaS and mobile apps through an enterprise storefront. At the back of the private cloud, a bridge to public clouds transparently enables infinite datacenter capacity. Underneath, we enable the build-out of Amazon-style clouds – from basic compute and storage, to end-user apps. And, to deliver cloud services to mobile users is an app-aware network that’s high performance, secure, and always available. This is a foundational piece for providing secure access to on-demand IT services over private or public networks to any device.Transition: This isn’t just talk, we’ve actually built tailor-made solutions, to help make this work for any organization.
  14. Intro:Solutions for everything from BYOD to cloud convergence..Transition: Let’s take a deeper look.
  15. Intro:Starting with our mobile workstye solutions:Key Points: Our mobile workstyles solutions include a solution for some of IT’s most challenging customers, executives. Our executive mobility solutionenables executives to work with people, data & apps from the coolest devices – anywhere. Our BYOD solutions enables IT to embrace consumerization, empower employees and simplify ITAnd finally our workshifting solution enables the business to move work, cut costs and, amazingly, delight employees in the process. Transition: So let’s go into the cloud services solutions as well.
  16. Intro: There are four critical cloud services solutions:Key Points:Theseinclude a unified storefront that creates a single point of access & control for all apps and data—SaaS, web, mobile, and Windows. Our market leading desktop virtualization solution enables IT to transform Windows desktops and apps into Windows-as-a-Service clouds. Our enterprise cloud networking solution enables the delivery of all apps and services with high performance, security, and availability. And finally, our cloud convergence solution enables any enterprise or service provider to leverage infinite scale and flexibility across both private and public clouds. Transition: Now one of the cool things about all 7 of these solutions is that each are comprised of industry-leading products and services from both Citrix and our global network of business partners.
  17. Intro: But you know who could? The folks at Korea Telecom. Key Points:You see, the talented team at KT had a big challenge. They wanted to reduce their carbon footprint, secure corporate information access, save some money, and oh by the way arm their whole team with brand new iPads! Citrix engaged to help craft a solution and with the help of our solutions for mobile workstyles and cloud servicesAs a result, KT has now enabled 32,000 iPad users to securely access their network from anywhere, they’ve drastically lowered their costs and even launched their own external cloud, called the uCloud that beat the competition to the market with a solution that costs 40% less than the current market leader. Incredible.Transition: OK, let’s wrap-up.
  18. Intro:I hope this helped you learn a bit more about Citrix and our belief that IT services can be delivered with greater security and agilityTransition: Not only creating more business value..
  19. Intro: But also making your people happier and more productive. And we know how important this is for businesses in today’s world.Wrap-up: Thanks very much for your attention.
