2. General Rules
ï§ Each match consists of three games to 15 points
ï§ The match will begin with a coin flip
ï§ The winner may choose to serve first or choose a side
ï§ Teams switch sides after the first and second game
ï§ Teams also switch when the leading score reaches 8 points in the
third game

ï§ The first team to win two games wins the match
3. Service
ï§ The server and receiver stand in diagonally opposite service courts
without touching the boundary lines of their service courts
ï§ A service court error has been made when
ï§ A player has served out of turn,
ï§ A player has served from the wrong court, or
ï§ A player receives service in the wrong service court

ï§ There are no overhand serves in badminton
ï§ The serverâs racquet hits the base of the shuttle while the entire
shuttle is below the serverâs waist
4. Faults

ï§ Faults Occur:
ï§ If a service is incorrect
ï§ If a player contacts the shuttle on the opponentâs side of the net
ï§ If while in play the shuttle lands outside the court boundaries,
touches the walls or ceiling, or passes through or under the net
ï§ If a player deliberately distracts an opponent by shouting or making
unnecessary gestures
ï§ If the shuttle is hit twice in succession by the same player or by a
player and the playerâs partner successively

5. Lets
ï§ When a let occurs the play since the last service shall not count and the
player that served will serve again.
MANAGER'S MEETING
ï§ âLetsâ are called to halt play in the following instances:
ï§ Any unforeseen or accidental occurrence
ï§ If a shuttle, after passing over the net, becomes caught in the net
(note: it will not be a let when this occurs during a service)
ï§ If the server serves before the returner is ready
