Logistics efficiency makes the UAE the best
positioned country to enable companies to enter
emerging markets.
Reducing supply chain barriers to trade could
increase GDP up to six times more than
removing tariffs. The effects of reducing
barriers are not gradual; changes occur when
tipping points are reached.

The UAE has one of the most liberal trade regimes in the Gulf region and attracts strong capital flows.
▸ There are no exchange control restrictions, meaning unrestricted repatriation of income and capital
▸ Promotes investment growth
▸ Provides financing opportunities
The UAE’s currency, the Arab Emirate Dirham (AED), is pegged against the US dollar at a fixed rate of
AED3.673:US$1.
A fixed exchange rate will:
▸ Support the competitiveness of goods sold abroad
▸ Strengthen trade relationships between countries
▸ Insure a domestic product's competitiveness abroad and profitability locally
THE UAE’S LIBERAL TRADE REGULATIONS
PROMOTE INVESTMENT GROWTH

CORPORATE PROFITS IN THE UAE ARE TAX-FREE
There are currently legislations in force in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah
establishing a general corporate tax regime:
▸ The Abu Dhabi income tax decree of 1965
▸ Sharjah Income Tax decree of 1968
▸ Dubai Income Tax decree of 1969
In practice however only oil, gas and petrochemical companies and branch offices of foreign
banks are required to pay taxes - all other corporate profits are tax-free.
The UAE has
a tax-free policy,
meaning;
