Encore OPAC - Book Cart
- 1. Encore OPACOctober 2011 Update
- 2. When you find a book, dvd, or other item in the Encore OPAC, there are a couple of things you can do.
- 3. We’ll search for cats and take a look at the options.
- 4. Each item in the results list has a Request button and an Add to cart button.
- 5. You can use these links to quickly request items or collect several items in a shopping cart.
- 6. The Request and Add to cart links are also at the top of each item record. Let’s Requestthis book.
- 7. Log in with your library card number and PIN.
- 8. You’ll get a window asking for a pickup location. Choose your branch and click Submit.
- 9. But what if you want to request a lot of items? Is there a way to speed things up? Yes!
- 10. In my results list, I’ve found the first book I want to request. I’ll click Add to cart…
- 11. …and the link changes to read Remove from cart. This lets me know the item was successfully added.
- 12. I’ve found another title I want to request. I’ll click Add to cart…
- 13. …and the link changes to read Remove from cart. This lets me know the item was successfully added.
- 14. The link for the Cart is at the top of the Encore OPAC screen.
- 15. There are two items in my cart. Both are selected with a checkmark. If I wanted to unselect an item, I can click the checkbox to uncheck.
- 16. I want to request both of these items. I’ll click Request.
- 17. Log in with your library card number and PIN.
- 18. I’m requesting two items. I’ll click to choose a pickup location…
- 20. I’m requesting two items. I’ll click to choose a pickup location… …and I’ll click Submit to finish my request.
- 21. What if you find several books, add them to your cart, and then realize you don’t have your library card? You can add the titles to a list!
- 22. I want to save both items to a list for later. Both items are checked. I’ll click Save to list.
- 23. I can save to an existing list by choosing from the drop down menu. Or I can make a new list – that’s what we’ll do.
- 24. Type the name of your list. Give it a description if you want to.
- 25. Then click Createto save your list.
- 26. The confirmation tells you your list was saved.
- 27. Lists are saved in your Library Account. To view your saved lists, click on the My Account link.
- 28. Click My Lists to view your saved lists.

- I can also add this book to a list. Just click Add to cart.
- The Request it and Add to cart links are visible on the results page under each title. Use these links to quickly request items.To add an item to a list, click Add to cart.
- Now we see “remove from cart” – that lets us know the item is in our cart.Let’s take a look at the book cart.
- At the top of the page, click on My Book Cart.
- Each item in the book cart has a checkbox.Checkmark the items you want to add to a list – both of my items are already checked.Next click Save to list.
- If you move your mouse over an item in your book cart, you’ll see a few icons.Click the checkmark to request an item.Click the X+shopping cart to remove an item from your cart.Click the floppy disk icon to save the item to a list.Click the envelope icon to email yourself the record.Let’s go back to the search result list.
