2. Different activities take place in different parts of cities
– in Dublin, factory takes place in industrial estates,
shopping takes place in the city centre, most housing is
in suburban areas.

3. The CBD is often referred to as the “City Centre” –
most shopping and offices are found here

11. Cities grow out from the centre – usually the oldest
housing is near the city centre, newest housing in the
outer suburbs
Inner city homes are small, suburban homes are larger
Some inner city housing has been demolished and
rebuilt in recent years
