2. Why are we doing it?
• We are developing a work
programme so that local
groups can work with each
other and with European
Alternatives to develop
activities in a thematic way
• This will help stimulate
collaboration between
local groups, plan future
Network Meetings and
develop funding proposals
3. How can you help develop it?
• Download the Local Activities
document
• All activities are divided into
themes
• Look through the activities on the
theme/s your group is interested in
• Share the activities on those
theme/s with your group
4. Questions to discuss with your local Relevant field in the description of each
group local activity
What themes are your local group Activities are divided up into themes
interested in working on?
What relationships are there between Look at the field “Describe the activity”
the different activities in the theme/s in each activity of the theme/s your local
group is interested in
Identify in what ways* your group could See following slides on the ways your
work with other group/s on the theme/s group could work with other groups

your group like to work on/help develop? like from other groups to develop it?”

Take notes of the discussion with your Submit the outputs of your local group’s
local group on each question discussion to cooperative@euroalter.com
5. Example of exploring the relationships between different
activities on the same theme
Our group is interested in the “Precarity & Economic Alternatives” theme
The activities on this theme explore
• Issues faced by young people in precarious work situations in making a
living (LDN, Paris, PPP)
• Ways people create economic alternatives in responsive to the crisis
(auto-financing communities, social markets, alternative forms of
education)
• Developing the strategy for Europe (Europe 2020)
• Defining what are common goods (Paris, PPP)
See more examples on next slide
6. Example of ways we could work with other groups on the theme
• Enable other groups to use our research & design methods to discuss how young
people cope with precarity
• Feed in outputs of discussions in other groups into the publication for our project
• Include case studies (auto-financing communities, social markets, alternative
education) in our guide of creative ways of making a living
• Discuss how the outputs from our research on precarity can help us define what
the commons should be
• Discuss how lessons from different projects on precarity could develop a better
strategy for Europe 2020
• Discuss how we can develop joint activities on precarity for the festival
• Write a joint funding proposal on the theme
7. Example of other activities we would like to work with
Youth people as promoters of alternatives, Stop youth precarity, Social
Market & Movie Projections, What is behind the Europe 2020 Strategy,
What is the commons?
Examples of skills we can share with other local groups on this
theme
• Developing research methods
• Discuss questions other groups are working on in our group
• Writing funding proposals on the theme with other groups
• Developing activities on the theme for the festival
* See following slides
8. Next Steps
• At the BCN Network Meeting, we
can divide up into groups on each
theme to discuss the outcomes
of each local discussion
• We could use this to develop an
action plan of activities on each
theme, so we know how to work
with other groups on these, as
well as help plan future Network
meetings on specific themes
