4. India
• India is located in Southern Asia
• It borders China, Nepal and Pakistan
• The capital city is New Delhi
• The currency is the Indian rupee
• The official religion is Hinduism
• More than one billion people live in India
• The national language is Hindi
• The main colours on the flag are green, white and
orange

6. Mumbai (Bollywood)
• Mumbai is one of India's largest cities
• The reason why we went to Mumbai is Bollywood
• More films are made every year in Bollywood then in
Hollywood!
• It is the heart of the moviemaking industry
• The costumes we saw in Bollywood were amazing
• Most of the actresses were wearing Saris
• A sari is a piece of material wrapped around the
body

7. Mumbai (Bollywood)
• Saris come in a variety of colures, patterns and
designs
• The music in the films is mostly upbeat and lively
• Devdas and Laagan are two famous Bollywood films

9. Haiti
• Haiti is located in the Caribbean
• It is the western part of the island Hispaniola
• The capital city is Port-au-Prince
• The currency is the Haitian Gourde
• The official religion is Catholicism
• The national language in Haiti is French
• The main colours on the flag are blue, red and white

11. Port-au-Prince
• On Tuesday January 12th 2010 a devastating
earthquake hit the Port-au-Prince in Haiti
• It measured 7.0 on the Richter Scale
• The effects of this earthquake were brutal
• Buildings everywhere were destroyed
• Over 200,000 people died
• Many were found dead under rubble
• Billions of dollars in aid has been sent to Haiti

12. Port-au-Prince
• Organisations such as Unicef and Red Cross
and working in Haiti
• This earthquake was a tragedy
• Port-au-Prince is a now a ruined city
• It is filled with rubble and the remains of
buildings

14. Facts on Turkey
• Flag: Red with a white moon and star.
• Location: Borders the Black Sea, the
Mediterranean, the Aegean and the Marmara
Sea.
• Currency: Turkish lira
• Language: Turkish
• Religion: Islam is the largest religion in turkey
(96%)

16. Ephesus and the House of the
Virgin Mary.
• We chose to go to Ephesus because we had
heard about the city at home and we wanted
to see the House of Mary.
• 90% of the city is still underground
• Cleopatra Show
• The House of the Virgin Mary is were Mary
lived with John.
• Took water from fountain and put wish/prayer
on wall.
