[object Object],Student Page Title Introduction Task Process Evaluation Conclusion Credits [ Teacher Page ] Let the show begin… Over the years Theatre, film, and the media, has become a huge part of not only our country but also the world as a whole.  It has become one of the greatest influences on our individual lives and in many ways has become a model of how to live.  Especially now in the 21 st  century, media is not only a source of entertainment and information but it also effects us a much deeper level.  There’s something unexplainably powerful about the combination of audio sound, images, music, dialogue, pictures, etc…  Throughout this assignment you will have an opportunity to discover the impact of media, more specifically through theatre and film, as you begin to explore the many aspects and areas involved in a “good show.”  Throughout this journey you will follow the role of an actor, director, producer, or screenwriter, and will discover what each contributes to a show, film, etc…  Along the journey you will also have the opportunity of creating for yourselves the ending of a film.  As you do keep asking yourself the very question…What is it that makes media so impactful?

Throughout your journey you have discovered the different roles within the film making and why they are important.  You have had an opportunity to act yourself within one of these roles and  have then created your own idea for the ending of a film.  You have not only learned more about teamwork, but you have also been able to discover how important each role is.  Without one of these roles not existing, there would be no film.  As you know in your own lives, film is important, is impactful, and is a huge part of our society today. Film has a way impacting our lives and touching our hearts, like nothing else can.  I challenge you to continue on your journey of understanding film and how its created.  Just because you are at the end of this activity, does not mean you should let it end there.  Keep discovering, keep learning, keep analyzing why and what makes film so impacting on our world.  The more you understand about film the more you will enjoy watching film, because you will have a greater understanding of how it works.

[ Student Page ] Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Credits Teacher Page This  WebQuest has been designed as a tool to bring students to a better understanding of the world of Film and Theatre.  There will be 5-6 students assigned in a group each taking on a different role.  Each group will have 1 Director, 1 Screenwriter, 1 Producer, and 2-3 Actors depending on the film clip chosen.  The students will work first individually, as they research their character’s role and what they add to the production of a film or show.  Students will then work in a group to create their own ending of a film, in which they will act out.  In completing the WebQuest students will use the internet as a means to research their character’s role.  They have the opportunity of using some of the links already provided within the lesson, as well as any other sites that may apply to their area.  Students are to use these sites in order to gain a better understanding of their character and what they bring in the production of a play or film.  After researching their individual characters, they will then share what they have found with the other members in their group.  This will help the students as they are planning and creating the ending of their film.  The better they understand their role, the more efficient they will be able to be with their assignment.  Purpose of Lesson: The purpose of this lesson is to expand the students understanding of Film and Theatre.  First identifying the different roles involved in the production of the film, and their importance.  Secondly, having an opportunity to create their own ending of a film will allow them to observe how much work and time is involved in the production of shows and film.  Lastly, they will learn what makes a film impactful and what tools are used to make a good film.  Most importantly students will learn how to work as a team and realize along the way that effort from each person is what determines the outcome of the show or film. Throughout your journey you have discovered the different roles within the film making and why they are important. You have had an opportunity to act yourself within one of these roles and have then created your own idea for the ending of a film. You have not only learned more about teamwork, but you have also been able to discover how important each role is. Without one of these roles not existing, there would be no film. As you know in your own lives, film is important, is impactful, and is a huge part of our society today. Film has a way impacting our lives and touching our hearts, like nothing else can. I challenge you to continue on your journey of understanding film and how its created. Just because you are at the end of this activity, does not mean you should let it end there. Keep discovering, keep learning, keep analyzing why and what makes film so impacting on our world. The more you understand about film the more you will enjoy watching film, because you will have a greater understanding of how it works.

[ Student Page ] Title Introduction Learners Standards Process Resources Credits Teacher Page This WebQuest has been designed as a tool to bring students to a better understanding of the world of Film and Theatre. There will be 5-6 students assigned in a group each taking on a different role. Each group will have 1 Director, 1 Screenwriter, 1 Producer, and 2-3 Actors depending on the film clip chosen. The students will work first individually, as they research their character’s role and what they add to the production of a film or show. Students will then work in a group to create their own ending of a film, in which they will act out. In completing the WebQuest students will use the internet as a means to research their character’s role. They have the opportunity of using some of the links already provided within the lesson, as well as any other sites that may apply to their area. Students are to use these sites in order to gain a better understanding of their character and what they bring in the production of a play or film. After researching their individual characters, they will then share what they have found with the other members in their group. This will help the students as they are planning and creating the ending of their film. The better they understand their role, the more efficient they will be able to be with their assignment. Purpose of Lesson: The purpose of this lesson is to expand the students understanding of Film and Theatre. First identifying the different roles involved in the production of the film, and their importance. Secondly, having an opportunity to create their own ending of a film will allow them to observe how much work and time is involved in the production of shows and film. Lastly, they will learn what makes a film impactful and what tools are used to make a good film. Most importantly students will learn how to work as a team and realize along the way that effort from each person is what determines the outcome of the show or film.
