2. Have you ever heard of John C. Fremont? He was born in Savannah, Georgia on January 21, 1813.He died in New York on July 13, 1890. He was an instructor for math in the Navy from 1833-35.He also, in 1850 he won two gold medals one from the King of Russia and the other from the Royal Geographical Society of London.
3. John C. Fremont was famous for many reasons. The main reason was he was an explorer. He was also in the Mexican war. Fremont went on five western journeys, one of them him and Stephen Long were sent to explore Nebraska during the first half of the 18 th century. He also made maps with teams. Fremont had a nickname too “The Path Finder”. In high school he was expelled. He was also one of the first senators. He was a general too.
