“You can’t do today’s job with yesterday’s methods and be in business tomorrow”
says Scott Stratten, author of the best-selling book Unmarketing. Think about this for a second. Why do people keep
coming back again and again to any website? Facebook, Twitter, Fox News and even your Email, all provide new and
engaging content every time you visit them, and that is why people go back to it.
It’s simple, when people go to a website, see something
they like, and know that when they are back, they will
find more interesting content, guess what? They come
back! It’s basic human psychology.
WHY, because there is a new episode of a show you like, a new
game is on, or you want to see the latest news! WEB works
the same way. You have to give people a reason to come back.
Think of yourself as a producer. If you just have a website and
rarely do anything with it, why would I or anybody want to
come back? Web is not a one time thing, it’s an ongoing effort.
1. Did you watch TV 2 days ago?
2. How about yesterday?
3. Will you watch it again today or tomorrow?
I now average over 3,700 visitors per month. Via twitter, I con-
nected with a well known food writer and TV personality with
whom I have worked on designing a landing page for his award
winning food and wine newsletter. Working LinkedIn, Twitter
and our blog, I have connected with potential clients in film, TV,
Theatre, and corporations where our helpful expertise is creat-
ing interest in our work.

2. WEB VS TV - SMACKDOWN!

What If ....
There Was A Way To Generate Better Results Than TV?
Well, there is! It’s called a Blog. It has a wider coverage than any TV channel
and people spend more time on it than on TV. A study by eMarketer discov-
ered that an average person spends 72 hours a month online. Wouldn’t you like
them to spend some of that time on your website? WEB has one distinct ad-
vantage over TV, and that is, people can interact with your content. You create
your own community and your own loyal followers.
By getting your existing and potential customers engaged, you get return-
ing visitors, increase in sales, increase in profits, increase in referrals, hap-
pier, and more loyal customers.

But how do I keep it updated with new content, I am far too busy for
that!
Good question. All it takes is 15 to 20 minutes to create a paragraph or two. You can
spare 15 minutes a week to get hundreds of new customers and create a buzz about
your business, can’t you? It doesn’t even have to be you. It can be your spouse, your
employees, or your staff! You have a talented staff don’t you?
Ok, so what content should I create?
Another good question! This is very important so listen carefully. There is only 1
requirement for this content, that is, it has to be somewhat interesting. That’s all. It
doesn’t have to be a professionally written novel, and it doesn’t have to be a New
York Times article, it just has to be somewhat interesting. Infact it is recommended
that you make it a conversational tone. Write it just as if you were talking to some-
one. Here is how you approach it. Think what you did yesterday. Anything interest-
ing happen? Anything new you learned? Any customers you made happy? Every day
that you live, you experience new things. Something you found interesting, chances
are some of your customers will find it interesting as well. So now you have a way
to share it with them. It’s your BLOG! If they find it interesting, then they will pass it
along to their friends. You don’t have to capture everybody’s interest and you won’t
make everyone happy. But if you can make 1 person happy, they will share it. 1 per-
son is connected to an avergae of 150 poeople. Now, if 10 people share it, you have
just reached 1500 people with a 15 minute effort! Where else can you get this level
of exposure so affordable? Web can be very effective, but you have to know how to
use it the right way, and now you know!
Ok, But how do I let people know about it!
Well, we have solved that problem for you. The solution we will setup for you will
automatically share every new post you put out on social media channels such as
Facebook and Twitter. It will also allow you to insert meta tags with keywords for
search engine optimization, so when people come searching for something interest-
ing, guess who they find? You! That’s right, you will show up on search engines such
as Google, Yahoo, and Bing and your potential customers will be finding you left and
right. Remember, people are always looking for interesting things. And that’s not all;
we also provide a way for them to sign up with their emails to your blogs, so that ev-
ery time you put out a new post they get notified. And you now have built your own
email list to market to! Now if you do this right, and you regularly push out these
posts just like TV episodes, they will be waiting to hear from you. Could it get any
better? What more could you ask for than your potential customers waiting to hear
from you. So stop wasting time and start creating your fans.
I am almost ready to get started, but how will I know if it’s working?
You hit the spot there! When you are out there creating your fans you want to know
if people are reading what you are putting out there. If it’s even worth continuing do-
ing at all? That is why we also install a very comprehensive but easy to use analytics
program for you. You will be able to tell exactly how many people are reading it, how
many of those people are coming back, and how many new people are coming back
every day. And, there is more! You will also be able to see it all happening in real-
time! You will be able to tell what people are reading, and how many people are shar-
ing it! It’s an amazing feeling when you just had a rough day and you open up your
analytics in the middle of the day to see what people are doing, and you can say,
“WOW, all these people are there reading my blog!”. Plus all the comments people
share and the community that you built! It’s your community and your followers! Take
this as a warning! You will get overloaded with emails and comments from people
telling you how much they appreciate reading what you put out and how much they
enjoy it. It’s the same feeling a rock star gets when he hears a cheer from the crowd,
or sees a bulk of fan mail sitting on his table. However, the most important thing
about this is, that in the end, you know you have a community of people who respect
you, appreciate what you do, and will always be your loyal customers!
