Who is Malcolm X?
 Malcolm X is a Activist for the rights of the
 afroamericans, His belief is the islam And it
 was one of the most influential people for
 Afroamericans


The future belongs to
those who prepare for it
today.
Early Years
Malcolm Little was born may 19, 1925 in
Omaha, Nebraske
He was the fourth of seven childrens
His father was a activist for the UNIA who
inculcated black pride to his children
Because of KKK threats, the family relocated
many times in his childhood
In 1929 a White Supremacy group, the Black
Legion burn down the famliy home
Early years Cont.
His father was killed by a street car when he
was 6
In 1937 when he was 12, his mother have a
nervous breakdown and was commited to a
Psychiatric hospital, Malcolm and his brothers
were send to various foster homes
He was a excellent Student but dropped out
when teacher told him that being a lawyer
"wasn't a goal for a nigger"
He was arrested for robbery, drug dealing and
gambling
Nation of Islam


Nation of Islam is a religious movement
preaching for black self-reliance and unification
Malcolm learned about nation of islam through
his siblings while he was in prision
The groups belief that white people are devils
and the black people are the the aboriginal
people
Malcolm and the Nation of Islam
When he was released in1952 of prision
Malcolm Visited Elijah Muhammas the Leader
Of NoI
He was named assistant minister of the Temple
Number One in Detroit in 1953
Later that year he established more temple in
diferents cities of the west coast
The FBI Opened a File of him because he
declared himself Communist
Malcolm and the Nation of islam Cont.
became known when he protested against the
police for beating 2 members of NoI
this made the police began spying on malcolm
By the late 1950s Malcolm comments on issues
and event were reported on print, on radio and
television
In 1960, he meet with Fidel Castro
and presidents of african countries
 in the UN general Assembly

Leaving the Nation of Islam
Malcolm leave the NoI, He left because he stop
liking the way the NoI was going, and a growing
tension with the leader of NoI Elijah Muhhamad
He creat the Muslim Mosque Inc. a religius
organization and the OoAAU a Pan-Africanism
group
In 1964 he met with Martin L.K. in the
sentate to hear the debate on the
civil right bill
He converted to Sunni Islam
Internationals Travels
Mecca: In april,1964 he travel to Mecca to do
the Pilgrimage, he meet with the Prince of
Arabia Saudita
Africa: He travel To the United Arab republic
(Now egypt and Siria), Sudan, Nigeria and
Ghana during this visits he met officials, gave
interviews and spoke on television, he attend to
the meeting of the Organization of African Unity
Internationals Travels Cont.
France and UK:In paris he spoke on the Salle
de la Mutualite, in Oxford he participated in a
debate, later that year in london he spoke in hte
Council of African Organizations


Stumbling is not
falling.
Return to United States
When he return to United States he spoke in
many places but the majority were universities
because he "Welcomed every opportunity to
speak to college students"
He was threatened many times by the Nation of
Islam

  I believe in human beings, and that
  all human beings should be
  respected as such, regardless of
  their color.
Assassination
On february 21 of 1965 while Malcolm was
giving a speech, a man seated in the front row
shot him in the chest, then two other men start
shooting to malcolm
All the gun mans were from the NoI
In his funeral an estimated between 14.000 and
30.000 people attented and was broadcast in
television
