Geography
The total area of Russia is 6,592,772 sq. miles.
It’s the largest country in the world.
It contains every type of climate except distinctly
tropical.
European portion is a low plain, grassy in the south,
wooded in the north, marshes in the west, desert in
the south west.

• The national holiday is Russia Day, June 12
• Unity Day was first celebrated on November 4, 2005,
remembers the popular uprising led by Kuzma Minin
and Dmitry Pozharsky which got rid of the Polish
invaders from Moscow in November of 1612
• Every 9 May, Russia celebrates the victory over Nazi
Germany, while remembering those who died in order
to achieve it.

Russia's natural disaster
In the city of Chernobyl there was a
nuclear power plant.
On April 26, 1986 reactor 4 exploded
into a burst of nuclear fallout
devastating Chernobyl and all of its
surrounding area.
The plume drifted over large parts of
the western Soviet Union, Eastern
Europe, Western Europe, and Northern
Europe. Large areas in Ukraine,
Belarus, and Russia had to be
evacuated.

•The Mosin Nagant was one of the primary weapons
used by the Russian military.
•The sniper rifle variant was replaced by the svd.
•It was used in world war 1 and 2 and other smaller wars
with Finland

The Dragunov sniper rifle was and still is the
primary sniper rifle for the Russian army.
It was inducted by winning a contest between two
other sniper rifles because it was more accurate, had
better range, and was just easier to handle and control.

Rugby- Its like football but with less pads.
Ice-Hockey- Played on ice with a puck that has to go
into the goal using sticks.
Tennis- using a racket you have to hit the ball over the
net into your opponents court and it has to bounce two
times to get a point.

As of 2006 Russia had 933,000 km of roads, of which
755,000 were paved.
There are 630 paved airports and 1800 unpaved
airports.
They are no railways to U.S. bit the idea is proposed.
