2. Book report
1.- The name of the book that I read is“Lonely Hearts Club”, the author of
this amazing book is Elizabeth Eulberg, the publisherAlfaguara. This bookhas 315
pages.
2.- It is a non-fiction book, because it talks about a girl’s life, and that
is completely true. I thought in the idea of it being a biography but it only talks
abouta certain moment of her life.
3.- I took two days to read this book, because I really liked it a lot, I couldn’t
stop reading, it really got mycomplete attention.
4.- Themaincharacter is “Penny Lane”, and the secondary characters are
Tracy,Diane, Ryan, Nate and her other girlfriends.
Penny Lane:She is a teenager, goes to high school in New York. She is the
one that founded theLonely Hearts Club, the main character of the whole story. She
never triedto convince her friends to join her. Her friends knew everything about
3. her love and feelings, and the reason why she decided to found this non-usual
club.
Tracy: Penny Lane’s best friend, she’s so supportive with her, she always has
something to say to help Penny. She is always with Penny, they share everything.
Diane:Diane was the social of the whole school; she had a relationship with
the most popular guy in the school. She was too girly, pretty, with long blonde hair,
always wearing high heels, short skirts and tiny tops.
Nate:He was tall, handsome, pretty much close to every girl’s dream guy.
Penny’s love since she was five years old, a friend of the family. He’s the one that
breaks Penny’s heart, by cheating on her (even when they’re not in a formal
relationship).
Ryan: A football player, Penny’s classmate in high school. Diane’s boyfriend,
the perfect couple of the high school. On the other hand the hero, of
everything left in Penny’s heart. He comes to this story to get things done as they
4. supposed to be since the beginning. The one that makes Penny change her mind
about what she thinks about guys.
Other girlfriends: The ones that join her club, and make it a real club (without
Penny’s persuasion). They support each other and share their secrets.
5.-This book talks about a high school girl, who falls inlove with a complete
moron (Nate), she knows him since they were five years old, according to her, he’s
the guy that every girl wants to marry with, but as time passes, she was completely
decided to give him everything she owns (her virginity, thinking that he’s the
one) by realizing that he cheated on her, she breaks down emotionally. She
decided to make this club come true after her heart-break. After being the only one
in the Club,Diane joined her, after her broke up with Ryan.
After a while most of her girlfriends were in the Lonely Hearts Club,
supporting each other as it supposed to be. Nate was still trying to get a chance in
Penny’s heart, like if he forgot everything he did to her (just cheated on her) Tracy
helped her with that situation. The Club was having a really good result with
5. each one of the girls, Diane was way much different, no skirts just
jeans/pants, no high heels just tennis/flats, no more the old Diane. She wasin the
basketball team of the school. Tracy foundher way out of boys. And Penny, after
all shefound her love Ryan♥.
6.- I really loved this book, every single part of it. This book seemed to
describe my life with every page that I’ve changedthe correct words and actions. I
can honestly say that this book helped me to get out of the situation I was stocked
in. So for me it was way much easier to understand the story. Actually because
of the theme of the book I enjoyed It a lot ! I highly recommend this Lonely
Hearts Clubbookto all the girls who think love sucks, to the ones that want to be
in love no matter what, to the ones that change with every relationship they’re
in,well actually to all of them. | couldnot judge this author,
because I felt exactly like Penny, or maybe Elizabeth felt. This book made me
think a lot and realize why so many things happen.
