identity, it forms traits on which national
identity is based.

We asked if it is possible that national identity
may be the cause of developing such values
as racism and antisemitism, the answer in
69.6 % of cases was clear : yes.

The national identity is a belief in common
ancestry or ethnicity. In the history of a
nation and in its relations with other
nations, ethnic characteristics
(language, culture, and customs) are very
important, they create national identity. They
are not biologically determined but are the
product of social development.
