Many pet owners like to spoil their furry friends
with table treats, but canine and feline biology
is vastly different from that of humans. Beware
of spoiling your pet’s health with these
potentially dangerous foods:

3.  Milk: Contrary to animated stereotypes, most cats
(and many adult dogs) are actually lactose
intolerant. Attempting to feed them a saucer of milk
or other dairy-based products could easily result in an
upset stomach and diarrhea.
Chocolate: Most cats can’t actually taste sugar, but
they may be tempted to eat chocolate from an
owner who believes he or she is giving them a treat.
As with dogs, chocolate is toxic to cats due to the
chemicals caffeine and theobromine. These
chemicals are especially high in dark chocolate and
chocolate baking powder. Potentially fatal symptoms
of chocolate poisoning include vomiting, thirst,
restlessness, fever, and tremors.

4.  Grapes/Raisins: Although the reason
remains unclear, grapes and raisins can
cause sudden kidney failure in both cats
and dogs. Consuming these items can
result in symptoms including vomiting,
diarrhea, and lethargy in less than 24
hours.
