The project is very conceptual and theoretical since it is based on forming perceptions, which is making it very difficult for me to find a good way to translate this idea into a usable application. I did not want to scale down the project because I found many projects that combine just one sense with color to create a” synesthetic” experience. I wanted to use all senses and resources that an individual contains to formulate a thorough, diverse perception of color. It is sometimes difficult to describe experiences, feelings, and interpretations since they are so personal. This makes it a challenge to translate my idea into something solid and concrete that still allows for this flexibility. Then again I am not sure if it should be something finite – instead maybe the color sensor and translator is enough, leaving it open to interpretation. At this point I am having trouble determining what exactly this project should look like in the end. I am still asking myself how to best enhance the experiences and observations through other senses of the color deprived in order to create a synesthetic association and perception of color.
