Fun in Brum - October 2012
Introduction
Welcome to the latest edition of Fun In Brum for October 2012 produced
by the Family Information Service (FIS). We hope you find the information
useful. There are loads of exciting things to do for all the family and some
of them are totally free to do. All the activities are in date order and we
have added contact details of Libraries and playschemes happening
across the city this Half Term.

Fun for All

This edition contains a wide range of activities including some for
disabled children and young people up to the age of 24 in some cases.
When we have been told that an activity or event is inclusive we have
added the following text – If your child or young person has a disability,
please call the organisation for further information. Whilst we have been
assured these activities are inclusive we would always recommend that
you call ahead to discuss your child’s needs to ensure they are able to
meet them.

We also produce the Birmingham Disabled Children’s Directory full of
relevant information for parents and carers of disabled children. If you are
interested in the FREE directory you can call our helpline or email us and
we will be happy to add you to our mailing list. Call 0121 303 3521 or
email: familyinformation@birmingham.gov.uk.

Safeguarding Statement
This list of events has been compiled by the Family Information Service for
information only. It is up to the parent/carer to decide what is most appropriate
for their child.
Please note the information has been gathered to support parents/carers in
accessing activities for children and that Birmingham City Council does not in
any way recommend or endorse any of the organisations other than services
directly delivered by the council.

It is the responsibility of parents/carers to carry out their own checks and to feel
completely satisfied with the safety of their child and the quality of the service
offered.

  • 2. Fun in Brum - October 2012 Introduction Welcome to the latest edition of Fun In Brum for October 2012 produced by the Family Information Service (FIS). We hope you find the information useful. There are loads of exciting things to do for all the family and some of them are totally free to do. All the activities are in date order and we have added contact details of Libraries and playschemes happening across the city this Half Term. Fun for All This edition contains a wide range of activities including some for disabled children and young people up to the age of 24 in some cases. When we have been told that an activity or event is inclusive we have added the following text – If your child or young person has a disability, please call the organisation for further information. Whilst we have been assured these activities are inclusive we would always recommend that you call ahead to discuss your child’s needs to ensure they are able to meet them. We also produce the Birmingham Disabled Children’s Directory full of relevant information for parents and carers of disabled children. If you are interested in the FREE directory you can call our helpline or email us and we will be happy to add you to our mailing list. Call 0121 303 3521 or email: familyinformation@birmingham.gov.uk. Safeguarding Statement This list of events has been compiled by the Family Information Service for information only. It is up to the parent/carer to decide what is most appropriate for their child. Please note the information has been gathered to support parents/carers in accessing activities for children and that Birmingham City Council does not in any way recommend or endorse any of the organisations other than services directly delivered by the council. It is the responsibility of parents/carers to carry out their own checks and to feel completely satisfied with the safety of their child and the quality of the service offered.
