Projects Handled
Quantification of phosphate and bacteriological examination in varieties of processed shrimps
Abstract: In the current investigation of shrimp industries, the implementation of microbiological
standards for export is essential. Studies on farmed black shrimps aimed to reveal microbiological load
of tropical shrimps was significantly higher than those from temperature waters. Materials And
Methods: Three varieties of shrimps were studied, the bacterial load and identification tests on various
disease causing organisms like vibrio cholera, vibrio parahemolyticus, staphylococcal aureus, and E.coli
as well as estimation of phosphate levels by Fisky and Subbarao method. Results and discussion:
Bacterial load is high in HLSO shrimps than PDTO and PDBT .Along with this the phosphate levels of
shrimps is also analyzed and found to be high in PDBT when compared to other two types of shrimps.
Together with huge extract of microbial contamination with phosphate levels leads to food poisoning.
Further projects that probable helping in public health risk upon consumption of export quality shrimps
