4. White Blood Cells
Itwards off infection
Number of white blood cells in our body is
lower than the red blood cells in the body
5. Platelets
Helps blood to clot
Clotting prevents blood from flowing out
of a body when the artery or vein is
broken
6.
7. Veins
Veins are similar to arteries except that
they transport blood at a lower pressure
and they are not as strong as arteries.
It receives blood from the capilaries after
the exchange of oxygen and carbon
dioxide has taken place.
8. Arteries
It supplies fresh oxygen rich blood to the
body
They are tough on the outside and
smooth on the inside so as to allow the
blood to flow smoothly
9. Capillaries
They are very thin and fragile.
They are so thin that blood cells can only
pass through them in a single file.
The exchange of carbon dioxide and
oxygen takes place through the thin
capillary wall.
