HRM is the function within an organization that
focuses on recruitment and selection,
development of employees and providing
direction to both the employees and
organization to achieve organizational goal..
3. HRM is simply managing people at workplace..
Managing involves five major functions:
1. Planning
2. Organizing
3. Staffing
4. Leading
5. Controlling
4. Planning:
Establishing goals and standards, developing
rules, procedures, plans and forecasting..

Organizing:
Establishing departments, giving each
subordinate a specific task, delegating them
authority, establishing channels of authority
and communication, coordinating subordinates’
work

5. Staffing:
Involves recruitment and selection, training and
development of employees..
Setting performance standards, performance
evaluation and compensation..

6. Leading:
Motivating subordinates to get the job done
and maintaining morale..

5. Controlling:
Checking either the actual performance meets
with the desired performance, if not take
corrective actions..
8. HRM operates in open and dynamic
environment..
Ever changing internal and external
environment..
Ever changing environment creates threats and
opportunities..
