4.  Discuss the difference between the physical safety and psychological
     safety rights of educators. (10)
5.  Explain the right of educators to protection against sexual harassment.
     (8)
6.  What are the benefits and disadvantages of being employed by the
     school governing body? (10)
7.  What is the difference between the ‘express’ and ‘implied’ terms of
     contract for school-based student educator training? (8)
8.  What are the procedures in appointing educators in public schools? (8)
9.  Discuss the four steps in grievance procedure. (8)
10.  Discuss the delicate balance educators need to find between their rights
     and responsibilities. (12)                                           2

1.  Discuss the ten sources of labour relations in South Africa. (25)
2.  Discuss the difference between the Constitution, Labour Relations
    Act, Educators of Employment Act and other statues, as sources of
    labour relations for educators. (25)
3.  Discuss the rights and duties of employers and employees in
    education. (25)
4.  Discuss the following concepts under the notion of ‘workplace
    discipline’: (i) meaning of workplace discipline, (ii) substantive fairness
    in dismissals, (iii) procedural fairness in dismissals, (iv) just
    administrative action, (v) no-fault dismissals and (vi) constructive
    dismissals. (25)
5.  Discuss the following concepts under the notion of ‘collective
    employment relations’: (i) educator unions and collective agreements,
