The Himalayas spread
through out
Nepal, India, China, Pakist
an, Afghanistan, Bhutan
and Myanmar. The
mountains take up
1,089,133 km². Some of
the most heard of
mountains in the
Himalayas are Mount
Everest, K2 and LhotseThe tallest of these being
Mount Everest.

leopards etc..)

• Hunting Birds (Falcons, Eagles)
• Birds (hawks and other predatory

• Insects (Moths, Butterflies)

• Mountain Goats

5. Snow Leopards
Snow leopards are the
Hunters of the mountain.
With it’s white fur Snow
leopards can camouflage
quite well giving them the
advantage over there prey.
Snow leopards also have
long tails to use as balance
on the thin ledges.

The people in the Himalayas
have a hard life. The rough
ground makes it hard to
grow food and the rocky
slopes makes travel hard.
Just because they live in the
mountains doesn’t mean
they don’t have a religion.
Some forms of the religions
in the Himalayas are
Hinduism, Buddhism and
Islam. The people in the
Himalayas live in stone
houses and rely on yaks as
there food. There is very few
vegetables so nutrition is
hard to come by.

8. Climbing Mount Everest
• Mount Everest is 8,848 m tall and takes 4 to 9 weeks to climb.
When climbing Mount Everest The hardest part is coming down.
The first men to ever climb Mount Everest and live was Edmund
Hillary and Tenzing Norgay on May 29, 1953. The first woman was
Junko Tabei who reached the summit on May 15, 1975. Most people
climb in the warm months of May because it’s the safest time of the
year and there isn’t as much bad weather and snow storms.
