the best weather in the

several floods in the
past due to the rising

waters of the Motueka
and Riwaka Rivers.
2. The Weather Forecast
People now use lots of things to
forecast the weather.
For example:
Planes ,coming from overseas, tell the
Civil Defence of Nelson that heavy
rain is coming. They then tell all radio
stations in the area that there is going
to be a flood.

Approximately every 20 years
What areas are likely to flood?
At least 20 or 30 feet on either
side of the river
