Home Time Management and Cooking: What Kind of Help Is Out There? It seems most people I come across struggle with home time management and cooking. You know what you should do: plan in advance; make menus; shop once a week; and cook wisely by doubling up, putting stuff in the freezer, and using leftovers. Yet, you’re still stuck. You’re still in the same predicament you were in last year at this time… not to mention the year before and the year before that. Here’s the deal… we all need help at one time or another. When we have a problem, when we need to conquer a mountain, or when we need to learn how to do something, we need to have the right resource available to… well, help us. Books There are some wonderful books out there on this subject. If this is your forte then ask for recommendations from friends or… better yet… when you’re in that bookstore aisle just pick up books and start browsing through it. Caution: While books are undeniably a wonderful resource for learning how to manage your time wisely… they aren’t likely to give you a step-by-step plan for putting what you’ve learned into action. Website/Blogs/Forums These, also, can be wonderful sources of inspiration. They can supply you with great ideas to implement in your own life. They can also be time-wasting traps. In some cases it’s simply the blind leading the blind. Home Time Management Coaching The final resource I’ll talk about is that of hiring a coach. Many people seeking the greatest return of their time invested hire a coach (e.g., athletes). A growing trend is to hire a home time management coach. If this is your forte then ask for recommendations from friends or… better yet… when you’re in that bookstore aisle just pick up books and start browsing through it. Caution: While books are undeniably a wonderful resource for learning how to manage your time wisely… they aren’t likely to give you a step-by-step plan for putting what you’ve learned into action.
