Grocery Shop like a Home Time Management Expert
You, too, can grocery shop like a home time management expert.
I'll share a few of my tips you just pick and choose what works for you.
First, let me say I always hated to grocery shop.
With 4 kids it was impossible for me to avoid it. I'd put it off as long as possible then go blow $400.00 (this was back in the late 1990's and all through the 2000's so that was A LOT of money).
It wasn't that I couldn't afford it, I just hated it. So I'd go and get a BUNCH at one time.
It helped that I could make 3 meals out of a single chicken. So that trip really would last a long time. Since I paid for the kids' breakfasts and lunches at school so during the week we only ate 1 meal/day at home.
After I returned to college it was a different matter. My oldest 2... the natural chefs of the kids... had grown and moved out and the younger 2 hadn't started cooking much yet. I was in college full-time and working between 1 and 2 part-time jobs.
Using menus became more important than ever. So that's where I'll start…
1.) Grocery Shop According to Menus
You can't go wrong by shopping according to menus created in advance based on your family's activities in the upcoming week. You'll save time, money, and effort.
2.) Grocery Shop Only Those Aisles That Have Food You Plan to Buy
Don't go up and down every aisle. You know where your stuff is.
3.) Grocery Shop at the Best Time for YOU
I've done my shopping on all days of the week and all hours of the day and everything worked for a while.
Find what works for you.
My job as a Home Time Management Coach is to help you save time on the things you HAVE to do… such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and housework so that you can reinvest that time into your marriage, your kids, your family and friends, and even yourself.
