Core Plus Competency Partners receive a “core” set of software license benefits upon attaining their first competency or advanced competency along with competency-specific software licenses. When your employees or contractors pass the applicable competency exams, your organization can count those exams toward multiple silver competencies. 3Partners can attain multiple gold competencies. When your employees or contractors pass the applicable gold competency exams, your organization can count those exams toward only one gold competency. 4 Qualifying application tests refers to products that pass Microsoft hardware and software tests, and applies to the Independent Software Vendor (ISV)/Software competency or other competencies through the ISV/Software track. Qualifying application tests vary by product. 5After October 2011, to maintain a gold competency, partners must meet the revenue commitment before their next renewal date. After achieving a gold competency, partners may be required to complete a simple business plan that details the activities that will support their plan. If applicable, a Microsoft representative may be available to help the partner create the business plan.
