4. Most Tragic Italy quake toll rises to 228 There was a earthquake in Italy. Eleven people remained missing. They got Sniffer dogs were barking because they couldn’t find the missing people. 17,000 people had to be housed in tents. This earthquake wasn’t as bad as the earthquake in Onna. The earthquake in Onna lost at least 40 residents. Before the ground shook the rod ripped and the 16 century statue was shattered. 5. Most Controversial 12,000 U.S. Troops to Leave Iraq President Obama declare that the United states will withdraw 12,000 U.S. soldiers from Iraq by September. Also president Obama said that the United states would restrict itself to achievable goods before departing. Before Obama made the announcement a suicide bomber plowed through the entrance of the police academy in Baghdad. Under the administrations plan they will make a major reduction of the 130,000 soldiers in Iraq will be postponed. there is a peak of 160,000 soldiers in Iraq, as many as 50,000 U.S. troops will remain in Iraq even after combat troops will leave. 6. Most Ironic A US Airway jet crashed in to the Hudson River Between Manhattan and New Jersey. A flock of bird got caught in the engine. The plane had 155 people that survive the crash for the pilot Chesley B. Sullenburger 3rd. The plane took off at LaGuardia Airport and less then minute later the pilot reported double bird strike. The pilot recommended that to make an emergency landing in the river. They consider that Chesley B. Sullenburger is a hero for making a perfect landing in the river to save everyone on the plane. If it was not for him everyone on the plan could died of would be hurt. The plane landed in icy water that it be almost impossible to survive. Most likely he will not get the home record. He will get it but since he toke PEDS they will give him a star next to his name so people don’t give him credit like they did to Barry bonds.
