Prime Number – pg. 215 - a whole number greater than 1 whose only factors are 1 and itself. Composite Number – pg. 215 - a whole number greater than 1 that has factors other than itself and 1.

9. Prime or Composite??? How do we tell if a number is prime or composite? a. 51 b. 59 Just list the factors!! 1 x 51 3 x 17 1 x 59 51 is composite . It has more than one factor. 59 is prime . Its factors are one and itself.
